All browsers add it automatically, but I just can’t kill the habit of typing the http:// before every URL I type into the address bar.

Face it, we're all creatures of habit.
My dad's had mousen with scroll wheels for *years* but never uses it and only uses arrow cursor keys or putting the mouse on the up/down arrows.
Also my dad on his PC *never* uses Alt-F4 to quit programs even though (for me at least) that's always quicker (or Cmd/Q on a Mac.)
